Photo sharing made simple

You've got no time and you're not into "the computer"

The FASTEST way to send images is through email, but you can only send 1-4 at a time due to filtering devices and such. Well you can SEND them, but they can't be received..

Go to http://picasa.google.com/ and download picasa. It's a GREAT free program that FINDS all of the images on your pc. Then once you select your images, it automatically uploads them to your google photo website where your friends can download the ones they like. You simply send your friends a link to your album.

Photo sharing services: You upload your images to a website and share the link with your friends. This allows them to look at your images, AND to print them out on their dime. Most accounts are free, and most will let you try their service with free prints.

Shutterfly and Kodak Gallery let others see your images WITHOUT getting an account. None of these let you download your images like Google's Picasa though. I believe a few let you purchase your higher resolution images back on a cd.

WARNING: DO NOT USE THESE SERVICES AS A VALID WAY TO BACK UP YOUR IMAGES. Sure you can print them, but they have the ability to lose pictures just like you do. Always back up your images on a cd, and keep them in DIFFERENT places. PC's crash, and when they do, your memories are gone forever. AND if you put them on disks, remember that technology changes. If you have all of your images on a 3.5" floppy, you'll be hard pressed to find a pc with a 3.5" drive!

Create a basic slideshow: Photobucket is coming up with more and more great things. http://www.photobucket.com/ . http://www.onetruemedia.com/ is another fun website that allows you to upload your images and videos and create slideshows with effects and music. You can even order a dvd. http://www.photoshow.com/ and http://www.smilebox.com/ are fun to look into as well.

Now there are also websites like http://www.shutterfly.com/ and others that let you take your images and make them into a BOOK, bound and everything. It's also getting easier and easier to make your own website, or blog... Shutterfly has the Shutterfly Collection, and Snapfish has Snapfish Groups. If you don't want the WORLD to be able to see your images, then look to be sure that they are password protected.

Editing online: Another option is to edit your images online.. http://www.picnik.com/ and fauxto or as it is now known http://www.splashup.com/ are two GREAT programs that are completely online. No downloads.

Another option is the newly available beta for photoshop online. https://www.photoshop.com/express/landing.html It has 2 gig of FREE storage. It also interfaces with photobucket, picasa, and facebook.
